Pat Rigg, an ex-Londoner turned Lewesian.
"I was born and brought up in a segment of North London, bounded in the south by Islington, and in the north by Cockfosters and Enfield. Apart from attending University in Exeter and teacher training in Cambridge, I then spent my working life there until 1991. As an inner city child with a love of the countryside, teaching Geography seemed a perfect way to combine both worlds in a more adult environment. Little did I know back in 1970, that schools make children of us all! I was proud to be an ILEA teacher, and learnt a great deal from my colleagues, my students and their families and the political struggles of the 70s and 80s."
